The Women Building Wealth group met today at the Irmo Chamber of Commerce and we had an excellent discussion about how to save not only on groceries but other items such as clothing and travel. I loved the enthusiasm from the group and we all learned a lot from the collective experience in the room. Plus the women shared some yummy cost effective recipes and tips. For those of you that missed it, here were some great tips that were shared:
- Aldi has very good deals on quality produce and you can use the Aldi circular to have WalMart match the deals offered.
- Senior citizens can shop at Kroger and Publix on Wednesdays to get 5% off their groceries.
- Publix has a 1 cent deal on Wednesdays with a minimum purchase.
- Publix doubles coupons up to 50 cents and accepts all competitor coupons.
- Southernsavers.com is an excellent source of manufacturer and grocer coupons as well as other non-food deals.
- You can get coupons/promotions codes for free movies
- You can get promotion codes for deep discounts for online clothing retailers such as LL Bean and Lands End.
- Consider signing up for Groupon for a location you plan to travel. Use farewatch.com to monitor fare changes and discounts prior to booking a trip.
- Retailmenot.com is another great site for deals and provides numerous on line promotional codes so check before you buy.
- Consider using crockpot liners to cut back on dishwashing.
